Secret Keeper

Every magician has a secret, who better to trust than one's humble assistant?

Done for class, again. This was an interesting process; first we did a very thick gouache painting and let it totally dry. Once it was bone-dry, you put a coat of India Ink over the top of the painting. (Scary!) After the India Ink dries, you put the whole painting under cool running water and ta-da! The India in comes off in flakes, but since it is waterproof not all of it comes off. It is VERY finicky (I actually ruined my first painting >n> Frustrating...) but if done carefully the end result is striking.
